Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of SwipeLearn, operated by Howler Monkey Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. By using SwipeLearn, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Who can use SwipeLearn

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • If you are under 18, you should have your parent or guardian's permission to use SwipeLearn, especially if purchasing a subscription.
  • You must provide a valid email address and keep your login details secure.

2. Your account

  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • Don't share your login details with anyone else.
  • Tell us immediately if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
  • We can suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

3. What SwipeLearn provides

SwipeLearn provides AI-generated microlearning content aligned to UK GCSE and A-Level exam board specifications (AQA, Edexcel, OCR). Our content includes:

  • Learning cards in various formats (text, quizzes, exam tips, etc.)
  • Progress tracking and spaced repetition scheduling
  • Specification coverage tracking
  • Streaks and daily goals

4. Content accuracy

Important: SwipeLearn content is generated by AI and aligned to exam board specifications, but it is a revision aid, not a replacement for classroom teaching, textbooks, or official exam board materials.

  • We make every effort to ensure content is accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee it is error-free.
  • Always check your school's resources and official exam board materials alongside SwipeLearn.
  • If you spot an error, please flag the card in the app. We review flagged content and correct mistakes.
  • We are not responsible for exam results. SwipeLearn is a tool to help you learn — how you use it is up to you.

5. Free and Premium plans

Free plan

  • 15 cards per day
  • Up to 2 subjects
  • Basic progress tracking
  • Free forever — no hidden time limit

Premium and Exam Boost plans

  • Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe (web) or Apple App Store / Google Play Store (mobile). Subscriptions are managed by RevenueCat across all platforms.
  • New subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends.
  • You can cancel at any time. Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods, but if you're unhappy, email us and we'll try to sort it out.
  • Prices may change. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect.

6. Acceptable use

When using SwipeLearn, you must not:

  • Use the app for anything illegal
  • Try to access other users' accounts or data
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy our content at scale
  • Use automated tools to interact with the app (bots, scripts, etc.)
  • Abuse the card flagging feature
  • Deliberately submit false information

7. Intellectual property

  • SwipeLearn, its design, code, and AI-generated content are owned by Howler Monkey Ltd.
  • You may share individual cards with friends (the sharing feature is designed for this), but you may not reproduce, distribute, or sell our content in bulk.
  • Exam board specification references (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) are used under fair dealing for educational purposes. These exam boards do not endorse SwipeLearn.

8. Availability

  • We aim to keep SwipeLearn available 24/7 but can't guarantee zero downtime.
  • We may need to take the app offline for maintenance — we'll try to give advance notice.
  • Features may be added, changed, or removed over time. We'll communicate significant changes in the app.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • SwipeLearn is provided "as is". We don't make warranties about exam results, content completeness, or uninterrupted service.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of SwipeLearn.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
